Why are we here?

God desires we become part of his eternal family, but we have the ability to choose whether to be included. By ignoring God, we automatically opt out and cannot call ourselves a Christian. Once we decide to follow God, we become students in God's classroom, learning how to behave and achieve our own unique purpose that God has given us. We have a set of commandments to follow, with the most crucial focusing on love. Unfortunately, evil has stained the world, and we cannot make it on our own, therefore God sent his son Jesus to serve and teach us. Jesus paid for everyone's sin by dying on the cross and rising three days later. By accepting Jesus into our lives and what he did for us, we no longer have to worry about our sins as they are covered by the blood Jesus spilt for us, although this does not give us freedom to sin. If we fall after embracing Jesus, we repent again as God sees how much we love him. He teaches not to lose hope. Life is a lesson that never stops.

Are we too late?

The Bible teaches the opportunity to repent is available whenever a person is ready to turn away from their sins and accept God. The call to repent is a continuous invitation, meaning you can repent at anytime. In Matthew 10:1-6, the parable of the workers states that the owner pays the workers the same amount regardless of how long they work. The message emphasises the owner's generosity in treating everyone equally, regardless of when they started. Remember the shoes you put on today, the undertaker could be taking off tomorrow; there is no guarantee we will be here tomorrow. Once we are gone the invitation is no longer available.

What do we do?

You are saved when you decide to repent of all your sins, reject evil, believe in Jesus and all he did for us and let God become the centre of your life. This signifies that one day you will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. This is one of happiest days of your life here in this world. As a member of God's family, spending time at church in prayer, singing, and worships is crucial. The more often the better, but at least once a week. In addition it is essential we cultivate a relationship with God by reading his words in the Bible daily and praying over them. The Bible teaches us to receive communion in remembrance of what Jesus did for us; many religions do this differently, but what is important is being in communication with God and never forgetting how incredible his love for us is, as he demonstrated by dying for us in the way he did. Receiving communion as often as possible is essential.

The Rapture

This is when the members of God's family will be snatched up to heaven in the blink of an eye. The Bible confirms that it will happen unexpectedly and at anytime. Not all Christians will be taken in the rapture for a variety of reasons, but ultimately due to some compromise in their life. This is not to say they cannot be saved. It is a wake-up call to address the obstacles that have impeded inclusion so that they can still be saved. Times will be extremely tough following the rapture, therefore remaining faithful to Christ will be challenging, but it is vital those left are not deceived. Following the rapture, a seven-year tribulation period will begin. This is the period when the antichrist will rule on earth, as described in the book of Revelation, the final book of the Bible. The Bible warns against taking the mark of the beast as there is no turning back once accepted, although it is unknown what format it will take. Some speculate that it will be a microchip implanted in the hand or forehead, as the Bible states that without it one cannot trade. The Bible warns that there are worse horrors than physical death and it would be better to die as a martyr for Christ than receive the mark of the beast.
