Matthew chapter 17
We must listen to Jesus and not be afraid.
All things will be restored, but first there will be suffering.
We must have faith. Even the smallest amount of faith can do miraculous things. Nothing will be impossible.
In much the same way the children are exempt from tax, they are exempt from sin to God, but adults must pay.
Matthew chapter 18
We must be humble like a child who puts all their trust in their Father.
Never believe you are better than someone else, even if you follow the commandments, read the Bible and attend church. We must always regard ourselves as the lowest servant.
Do not lead anyone to sin, especially children.
Anything in your life that causes you to sin must be removed.
God will not abandon us, no matter what we have done. He will come after us, and once we repent and follow Jesus, we are found, and God is truly pleased, more so than those already found who don't need Jesus' help.
God will not lie, steal or destroy; he will let us repent in quiet but will escalate it if we refuse to repent, and the consequences will be more severe.
What we do on earth affects the spiritual realm in Heaven. What we say matters.
Two or more gathering in God's name will have God's presence, and anything asked for will be given, should it line up with God's will.
Forgiveness for others is essential if we want forgiveness from God for our sins. If we carry unforgiveness, how can we expect forgiveness from God?
How we treat others will be how we will be treated by God.
Matthew chapter 19
Family is united in love; do not break this bond of love God has joined together.
Forgiveness is better than divorce, even if there is a valid reason. Forgiveness shows great love.
God loves the little children. We must be like the little children, and we will enter the kingdom of Heaven.
We must follow all the commandments and give to those that need it. Holding onto great riches makes it harder to enter the kingdom of Heaven, but nothing is impossible for God. God knows our hearts.
To give up everything to follow God will receive a hundredfold inheritance and eternal life.
Many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first. Remember to stay humble and be the lowest servant. No one is worthy, yet God purifies us with his grace.
Matthew chapter 20
We all have the opportunity to follow God by repenting of our sins and following the commandments. No matter when we reject sin and follow God in our lives, we will be rewarded. God's generosity rewards those who come to him late in life the same as those who come early. Do not be jealous, but be happy our brothers' and sisters' in Christ's family are saved. Remember the last will be first, and the first last.
Just like Jesus predicted his own death to the disciples, the Bible predicts what will happen at the end of the age, the tribulation period, the millennium period and the final judgement.
God knows our hearts when we ask for our prayers to be answered. To be great we must be servants of God and serve others.
If we ask God we will be granted sight to see God's greatness and will follow him.
Matthew chapter 16
We should recognise the time we are in by the signs around us and what the Bible says. We don't need to keep asking for more signs; just repent and have faith and trust in God.
Be on our guard against evil and do not worry about trivial matters; God takes care of our every need.
Jesus is God our Messiah, who appointed Peter as the foundation of the Church. Nothing will overcome God's Church. What we pray for in Heaven will be let loose on earth.
If we lose our life for God, we gain it in eternity, but if we try to save our life, we lose it.
We must take up our cross for God and follow him and deny ourselves (be servants to others.)
Good works do not save us, as Jesus did that for us, but we will be rewarded according to what we have done. (Inheritance in Heaven. Note, we can be save and have no inheritance.)
We are the last generation – some of us will not not see death. (Rapture.)
