Matthew chapter 6
Pray and do good deeds in private so your rewards are stored up in Heaven. Anyone receiving praise on earth has already received their reward.
Prayer is not about overtalking; try listening.
Pray the Our Father.
Always forgive those who sin against you, so you are not unworthy to receive God's forgiveness.
Do not store up treasures on earth, but rather in Heaven, by generosity, service to others and praying for others. Our love on earth for others will be rewarded in Heaven.
Eyes are linked to our soul. What we look at is either darkness or goodness. Our eyes need to be healthy so our soul is healthy.
You cannot be focused on money. God is our only master. Yes, we need money, but God has to be our focus. God will take care of us. (Trust.)
Do not worry about tomorrow or worry about our earthly needs. God will take care of us. (Trust.)
Priority is God, his kingdom and his righteousness. Do this and all things will be given to us.
Matthew chapter 7
Do not judge others, or you will be judged.
Take the log out of your own eye before removing a splinter from others. (DO NOT JUDGE OTHERS!)
Use discernment when sharing the word of God. Not everyone is ready to receive spiritual truths and may trample on the message. (Be wise.)
Ask in faith and you will receive. Seek God and you will find him. The door is open to those who knock. God will give good gifts to his children, in the same way you do, regardless of whether it is deserved.
It is easy to take the wrong path and lead to destruction and hard to find the narrow road that leads to life; only a few make it. Cannot be like the majority; must be like the few.
Watch out for false prophets; by their fruit you will recognise them. A good tree bears good fruit.
We must do the will of the Father and bear good fruit. Servants, love and harvest – spread God's word.
Must follow the word of God. Not just knowing the word of God.
Jesus taught these words with authority because they are so important and cannot be ignored.
Matthew chapter 8
Our gifts are from God, and we shouldn't brag; give glory to God. Use our gifts as instructed by God.
Even the unworthy receive God's Grace with faith and humility.
Evil has an appointed time on earth.
The dead look after themselves; we are alive because we follow Jesus.
Trust the Lord, especially when it is stormy. The great storm is coming, a time we must trust in God.
No one can defeat God's power.
Matthew chapter 9
With faith our sins are forgiven.
God has given man the authority to heal and perform miracles. (Faith and trust.)
Jesus came for sinners, for us, to show mercy, not sacrifice.
Jesus is the Bridegroom; we celebrate with him.
The Holy Spirit will be poured into us when we are born anew, so we can be preserved.
Faith heals all things. Trust in the Lord.
When we "die", our body is asleep and our soul lives on. Life is eternal with God; death is going to Hell.
God knows how harassed and helpless we are, but he is here to be our shepherd.
"The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few." We are called to be workers for God, to harvest souls and bring them to a life eternal with God.
Matthew chapter 10
We all have authority to drive out impure spirits and to heal the sick. (Faith and prayer.)
Trust God. We need nothing except God, and he will provide all our needs. (Trust.)
If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, then do not stay.
We are like sheep amongst wolves. Be on your guard.
Do not worry about what you say or how to say it; at that time you will be given what to say by the Spirit of the Father speaking through you.
You will be hated by everyone because of God, but the ones who stand firm to the end will be saved.
You will not finish your mission before Jesus returns.
Stay humble and do not be afraid of those that kill the body, but rather be afraid of the one that can destroy the soul and body in Hell. (God.)
God will provide our needs.
Acknowledge God in front of others – do not disown God in front of others.
God did not come to bring peace to the earth, but a sword. (Destroy evil.)
We must take up our cross for God and love him above all things. Those who lose their life for God will receive eternal life. (Servant.)
Welcome righteous people and prophets and those who preach for the Lord. Look after these people and you will be rewarded.
