Mark chapter 11
Jesus last entered Jerusalem at the Mount of Olives on a donkey as a servant. Jesus will return the next time as a warrior riding a war horse.
Be afraid of the wrath of God, as God is all-powerful.
Whatever we request in prayer with faith and belief, we will indeed receive.
We must forgive everyone, so God will forgive our sins. If we don't forgive, why should we receive forgiveness?
Never question why God does something in order to catch Him out; you will be a fool.
Mark chapter 12
Do not reject Jesus. He is our foundation for everything. Without Jesus, no one can survive.
Do not be concerned about worldly commitments. Observe what is required to live forever. The more we prepare for eternity, the better it will be for us.
Everyone is our brother and sister in eternity, with God as our Father. The God of the dead is not with the living in eternity.
We must love God with all our hearts, souls, and minds and love our neighbours as ourselves. To follow these commandments, all other commands fall into place.
Jesus will be king of the world, ruling from Israel as king David once ruled over Israel in the early church.
We must always stay humble and remember not to point out the splinter in someone else's eye when we have a plank in our own.
To be generous is not about how much we give but the proportion of our wealth we give.
Mark chapter 13
Always be prepared and do not be deceived.
Bad things will happen as we approach the end of the age, but do not be alarmed; they must happen.
Be ready and prepared and on your guard, and stand firm until the end.
Watch out for false messiahs and false prophets, and do not be deceived by their signs and wonders.
Jesus will return in glory on the clouds, and his angels will gather his elect from the ends of the earth.
No one knows when Jesus will return, so be on guard and ready and watching. Do not let him find you sleeping, with lamps only half full or empty.
Mark chapter 14
What we do for Jesus is a wonderful thing, more so than helping the poor.
Every time we share communion with Jesus, we cultivate our relationship with Jesus. We remember what Jesus did for us and elevate our prayers.
We must pray we don't fall into temptation. We must stay awake with Jesus at the centre of our lives.
It is so easy to fall, but when we do, we must turn to Jesus and repent.
Mark chapter 15
Jesus is a sovereign king and should be treated as such. (He was not elected).
As a king, he did what he could for his people in order to take care of them, because he loved them all.
We all have to carry our cross for Jesus, to show our love for Jesus.
For six hours Jesus suffered on the cross before being wrapped in cloth and buried in the tomb in the rock.
Jesus died so that everyone could live.
It is essential we all believe what Jesus did for each and everyone of us. His love for his people is unmeasurable.
Mark chapter 16
Jesus will do the heavy work; we just have to turn up and believe with faith.
Jesus rose from the dead on the first day of the week, the same day God said, "Let there be light."
We must all tell everyone about Jesus as it is written in the Gospels. Those who believe and are baptised will be saved.
Jesus will give many signs so we can believe.
