Mark chapter 10
Don't divorce. God puts us together; it is not for us to separate ourselves. Far better to forgive each other rather than divorce. Let love rule our lives together.
Encourage children in the teachings of God. We too must be like little children to God. We must be humble and trusting God to look after us, like a child trusts their earthly parents.
We must follow the commandments of Jesus. Remember where our treasure is, our heart is too. Ask yourself, what is most important in your life? Wealth is fine as long as it doesn't control your life.
God should be at the centre of everything we do. If we leave everything to follow God, including family, our reward will be a hundred times. This doesn't mean we should abandon our family responsibilities, but making God the centre of our world is essential.
If we listen, God will tell us what will happen so we are prepared. Importance of prayer and a relationship with God.
Ask and you will receive. If you don't ask, you may not be given, but all things we ask for will be given as long as they are in line with the will of God. God always has our best interests, more than we know ourselves.
The key is to remember to ask in prayer, but always give praise, thanks and glory to God.
Mark chapter 6
Many do not recognise God's work amongst us today.
When we have Jesus in our lives, we do not need anything else. Trust in God.
When you have the power, you must use it wisely. You will have to answer to God for your actions.
Trust in God, and He will always provide for our needs.
When we are struggling we must ask God for help, He wont automatically come into our hearts, unless invited.
Mark chapter 7
We must not dishonour God with man-made rules or tradition.
Fill our hearts with love so there is no room for anything else, especially anything evil.
We are all equal in God's eyes. No one is above another. It is the measure of faith and love for God that defines us.
With Jesus inside our hearts, we are healed.
Mark chapter 8
Often people want a sign from God, but if they took notice, there are many signs already.
When we trust God and have faith, we need nothing more.
Once we have Jesus in our lives, our eyes will be opened.
Do you truly know who Jesus is? This is a measure of where you are.
Jesus suffered so we don't have to.
Many misinterpret "we don't have to suffer" as "we can live for ourselves." In order we do not suffer, we must be like Jesus and live for others, be servants and give up our lives for others. Losing your comfortable life for others means you gain your life in eternity.
On a daily basis, what can we do for others before looking after ourselves? Serving others is love. Jesus said that what we do for others, we do for Him.
Mark chapter 9
The rapture could happen at any moment. Always be ready, as it will happen unexpectedly.
God is all-powerful, yet merciful.
Some things we must pray for to achieve.
We must be like children to God and servants to everyone else.
It is not what "religion" we follow; it is following Jesus. Don't criticise others who do God's work, even if they don't follow your traditions.
Remove whatever is unnecessary from your life if it causes you to stumble. We must stay on the vine and close to God.
Help and encourage each other in the ways of God.
