John chapter 2
We must always do what God tells us to do, better if without hesitation. This shows our love for God.
God always saves the best for last.
Although Jesus loves us, he will correct us as does a good parent. This may involve punishment but in the long run we are better for it. How much better is a child's learning if corrected. The love of a parent for a child of their own is the most powerful.
Jesus knows our hearts and where our reason is. We cannot change his opinion of us as it is always correct. We must make our hearts pure.
John chapter 3
We must be re-born in the Spirit so our sinful ways are put to death and we become born again, a new creature in God.
To be born again, we must first believe Jesus died for our sins and rose again three days later. We must repent all our sins, be truly sorry and reconcile any differences with anyone and turn from our sinful ways, intending to not sin again. We must forgive anyone we have an issue with (or we cannot expect to be forgiven ourselves). Plus, we must turn every area of our lives over to Jesus; our plans are no longer ours. We must submit obedience to Jesus in everything we do. If we are instructed by Jesus to do something, we must obey, without hesitation.
Our old ways are dead, in other words we die to the world, but born again in the Spirit.
We must believe in Jesus or we will perish.
If you sin you cannot come into the light. Live by the truth so everyone can see what you have done and you live by the light in the sight of God.
Everything we have is given by God. God can take it away.
We must become less, and God greater and we will hear his voice and be filled with joy.
Never reject Jesus or God's wrath remains on you. Accept Jesus and his Grace covers you.
John chapter 4
If we ask in prayer, Jesus will give us the water of eternal life and we will not thirst again.
We must praise God in the Spirit and in truth. To speak a new language we must study and practise speaking it. Much the same with the language of God, we must study the Bible and practise praying in the Spirit. The more we work at it, the more proficient we become.
We know when Jesus comes, he will explain the mysteries to us, yet if we open our hearts to Jesus, he is speaking to us now, answering us and guiding us daily.
We must feed on the word of God, so our spirit is nourished and doesn't die.
A time will soon come when the crop is harvested.
A time will also soon come when we will reap the rewards we did not sow. No one is worthy yet we still receive. Like a child receiving gifts from their parents, through love.
Blessed are those who believe, yet have not seen wonders and believe in faith alone. Soon many wonders will happen and so those who don't believe will see for themselves Jesus is our savior.
Rich or poor or middle, low or high class in society, Jesus doesn't care, he loves us all the same, as will be shown in wonders to come. It is how we respond to Jesus that matters.
John chapter 5
Everything is done in Jesus' timeline not ours, yet he always delivers if we stay on course and trust in him.
Once we receive what we are hoping for we must stay focused on Jesus and not sin, or things will be much worse than before. Our protection comes from knowing Jesus.
Jesus is part of the Trinity, which means he has the authority of God. Jesus came from God and is God himself.
Jesus has the authority to judge everyone. By accepting Jesus and the Father and believing in his word, you will not be judged as you already have eternal life, even though no one is worthy.
Those who don't accept Jesus will be judged according to their actions. To do good will mean you will live, but those who have done evil will be condemned.
We must seek to please Jesus and not ourselves.
We must give the Glory to God and not just glorify each other. We must not seek glory from each other. We praise and glorify Jesus.
All we have is because Jesus allowed it.
John chapter 1
The word of God overcomes darkness and is alive.
John the Baptist was sent to prepare the way for Jesus, so we would believe.
John was another witness, and there were many, but his own people did not accept him, which is often the way.
Moses was for the law, and Jesus for his Grace.
John baptised with water, but Jesus baptised with the Holy Spirit. To this day, when we are baptised in Jesus' name with water, we are filled with the Holy Spirit.
With God we will see many amazing events, but it is often the smallest things that touch our hearts the most.
